The Queensland government has announced CIMIC Group companies will be in charge of the $5.4 billion dollar project building a cross-river rail system.
Groups under CIMIC will be in charge of building the new consortium consisting of a tunnel, new stations and providing ongoing maintenance. Approximately half of the project, revenue will be awarded to the CIMIC Group.
CIMIC is joined by workers of UGL Limited, Pacific Partnership and CPB Contractors on this project.CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer Michael Wright says the group is the best choice for rail infrastructure in Australia and is a privilege to deliver these services to QLD.
“Our end-to-end capability enables us to finance, design, construct and maintain the new tunnels and rail stations combining the collective expertise of Pacific Partnerships, UGL and CPB Contractors,” he said.
With CIMIC Group leading, Pacific Partnerships are contributing 51% of equity finance to the project.
Pacific Partnerships Managing Director Martin D’UVA says the project is aimed to be a ‘whole-of-life solution’ to achieve value for clients.
