A silent guardian, standing tall and watching the skies. No, it’s not a superhero, but DroneShield’s (ASX:DRO) newest brainchild, SentryCiv: A new subscription-based counter-drone system for the civilian market.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

The company says it’s an embryonic leap in airspace protection, designed not for warzones, but for the everyday workers tasked with keeping airports, stadiums, and utility sites safe from rogue drones – and markets seem to like it.

At lunchtime, DroneShield stocks had been around +1.5% higher intraday.

SentryCiv is an AI-powered, passive counter-drone solution made specifically for the civilian world. Think of it as a silent guardian, always watching, never interfering, like a security camera that whispers instead of shouts.

“As drone threats continue to proliferate worldwide, critical infrastructure is increasingly vulnerable to malicious and unauthorised drone activity,” said Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s CEO. Traders seem to agree; drones have moved from hobbyist gadgets to potential airborne pests targeting sensitive locations.

But here’s the twist: SentryCiv isn’t your average high-cost, military-grade tech. DroneShield says it’s built for the wider community, with no upfront purchase cost and a pure subscription-based model.

That means airports, data centres, correctional facilities, and even sports stadiums can tap into real-time drone detection without blowing their budgets.

“SentryCiv represents our commitment to making advanced counter-drone solutions accessible and affordable for non-military sectors,” said DroneShield’s director of public safety, Tom Adams.

Its proprietary DroneLocator tech can spot and track drones and their operators like a GPS for flying intruders. Its engine identifies a wide range of drone models without interfering with existing communication lines.

Insert Sentry-C2 Civ, a seamless dashboard for live alerts, threat zones, and data logging that can be tailored to user needs. With regular AI updates rolled out quarterly, SentryCiv evolves alongside drone technology, with the goal of never lagging.

Bottom line? SentryCiv is like giving civilian airspace a sixth sense, at least when DroneShield explains the tech. The $3.4B company touts it as smarter, faster, and more affordable than ever, and it’s just getting started.

DRO has been trading flat at $3.98 in early afternoon trade.
