Duke Exploration (DEX) has received assays for the remaining two diamond holes drilled at the Prairie Creek gold project in Central Queensland.

The three-hole drilling program included 363 metres to follow up on previous exploration results and to gain an understanding of the geology and style of gold mineralisation at the project.

New results include seven metres at 31.17 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 2.4 metres at 0.71 g/t gold from 16 metres, 2.1 m at 1.64 g/t silver from 52.9 metres, and one metre at 0.54 g/t gold from 37.4 metres.

These assays build on results from the first drill hole which included 2.3 metres at 4.68 g/t gold from seven metres, 20.4 metres at 1.86 g/t gold from 11.4 metres, and 5.35 metres at 2.95 g/t gold from 38.1 metres.

“Geological logging and assay results confirm that epithermal-style gold mineralisation is
present and provides the impetus for further work on the project,” Managing Director Philip Condon said.

“Follow-up will be focused on geological mapping and interpretation and expanding soil geochemistry to define other targets. The diamond rig is now drilling at Duke’s Bundarra project.”

The company plans to undertake geological mapping and interpretation work as well as soil sampling to the north of the project.

Duke ended the day 9.09 per cent in the red to close at 20 cents per share.
