The travel connectivity provider reported $2.04 million in revenue for the September quarter, up 3% on the previous quarter, with recurring revenue accounting for 62% of the total. Underlying EBITDA remained positive at $150,000, according to unaudited management accounts.

Net cash from operating activities was $220,000, taking cash at quarter-end to $3.63 million, up from $3.54 million in June. The company said it had generated $2.94 million in operating cash flow across the five consecutive positive quarters, without raising capital or taking on new debt.

Partnerships extend beyond travel

During the quarter, FlexiRoam signed three enterprise agreements designed to embed its connectivity services into existing customer networks.

An agreement with Etihad Airways covers mobile data for staff, connectivity for aircraft routers and data for pilots’ iPads. All three applications are in service and generating monthly subscription billings.

A separate partnership with Dragonpass has commenced with a data reward offered to new members of a major global hotel group’s loyalty program. FlexiRoam also signed a multi-year agreement with an Australian payments group to connect payment terminals, with deployment preparations beginning with a merchant pilot.

The developments build on the company’s channel-led model, which distributes connectivity through established partners rather than relying solely on direct consumer sales.

A further development came after the quarter ended, when one of Australia’s Big Four banks began offering FlexiRoam global data roaming as a complimentary benefit on its premium rewards Mastercard credit cards. FlexiRoam receives an annual fee for each eligible card.

The bank launch adds another potential recurring revenue stream, although the company has not disclosed the number of eligible cards or the expected financial contribution.

Consumer sales point to future revenue

Consumer cash sales increased 79% compared with the June quarter, reflecting a shift towards frequent travellers seeking larger data allowances and longer-validity plans.

However, revenue recognition follows customer usage rather than the timing of the initial sale. FlexiRoam said around 80% of the quarter’s consumer sales were expected to be recognised as revenue in future periods.

That distinction will be important as investors assess whether stronger upfront sales translate into sustained revenue growth in coming quarters.

What investors will be watching

FlexiRoam enters the December quarter with $3.63 million in cash and several enterprise partnerships to roll out or expand.

Its priorities include bringing additional banks into its Mastercard program, progressing enterprise opportunities and moving a telecommunications memorandum of understanding towards a definitive agreement.

The company has maintained its FY27 priorities but has not provided formal revenue or earnings guidance.

The focus now is on execution: whether its growing partner network can deliver stronger recurring revenue while maintaining positive operating cash flow.
