FMR Resources (ASX:FMR) has hit visible copper in its latest hole at Target K within the Llahuin project joint venture in Chile. Diamond drillhole 26LHDD072, the third hole of a phase I program, intersected multiple porphyry-related intrusive phases, with a copper anomalism confirmed with pXRF technology.

The hole has been completed to a final depth of 1,038.2m at Target K, with the copper anomalism associated with porphyry intrusive phases with fractured and brecciated intervals, confirming the presence of a copper–molybdenum sulphide assemblage typical of mineralised porphyry systems.

MD, Oliver Kiddie, said the hole was designed to test a corridor between Targets A and C defined by geological, structural, and geophysical vectors.

“Drillhole 26LHDD072 has intersected multiple porphyry intrusive phases with visible copper and molybdenite sulphides, confirming that we have intersected the outer mineralised zones of this extensive system,” he said.

“The change in vein orientations and the distribution of sulphides provide a clear structural vector to the south, east, and at depth. Importantly, our integrated datasets now suggest the MT anomaly is likely mapping pyrite-rich peripheral mineralisation around the copper–molybdenum core.

“The next hole will be designed to test this refined interpretation as we continue to systematically vector toward the mineralised porphyry source.”

FMR is now focused on the completion of the integration of geological and downhole geophysical datasets from Targets A, C, and K which will help refine three-dimensional interpretation of the porphyry system.

The next drillhole will test an interpreted porphyry source south and east of Target K.

FMR is up +9.09%, to 30c. Mkt cap $13.50M.
