Good Afternoon and welcome to the HotCopper Highlights end of week wrap for Week 47 of the year, I’m Jon Davidson. In this segment we go over the stocks you, HotCopper Users, were watching and discussing most this week, for better or for worse. There’ll be a lot of for the worse today, because it’s been a resolutely shit week for markets.
Let’s turn to the most viewed.
Orthocell enjoyed the spotlight intraweek after it revealed its nerve repair product Remplir has shown success in reducing the risk of erectile dysfunction after prostate surgery in some 100 surgeries completed across Australia. While it’s still early days for Orthocell, the company’s also eyeing a pivot into the US.
Anson Resources meanwhile back on the radar after issuing its second capital raising since August when it tapped investors in a $14M placement that was widely to the chagrin of retail shareholders who wanted to know why the company couldn’t just raise all the capital it needed three months ago.
Metallium Ltd popped back up intraweek after inking a deal with New Frontier resources that claimed its critical metals e-waste recycling tech can also be used on traditional rare earth hosting ore, creating a liquid chloride mixture that effectively boosts the concentration of REEs from ore. The difference, here, from traditional processing remains unclear. Still, it’s inked a deal with New Frontier to handle the latter’s ore.
And as for the most discussed?
Mineral Resources made the boards after controversial founder and top dog Chris Ellison changed his mind about leaving the iron ore miner after all, following a year of intense pressure in 2024 borne from the back of media investigations into tax issues. A figure of the 1980’s WA mining scene, one shouldn’t be surprised.
Like last week, Droneshield made the boards once again as the company continues to go through a trial of flame. The company this week responded to the ASX who asked about the ins and outs of Oleg Vornik dumping his shares with the cheeky response the ASX screwed its question up and so Droneshield didn’t need to answer hypotheticals with speculation. Shareholders didn’t particularly like that.
Again like last week, lithium players remain popular. Liontown Resources was the fourth most discussed in the last week, following Pilbara Minerals, as the battery metal was this week thrust into the spotlight again when China’s Ganfeng chair claimed the price of lithium could increase by another +30% in 2026. Major Chinese benchmarks continue to display upside.
That’s HotCopper Highlights for Friday, I’m Jon Davidson, after the market’s performance this week try to have a great weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday.
