Iceni Gold (ICL) has intersected gold mineralisation in magnetic dolerite at the Everleigh Well target area in Western Australia.

Three diamond holes, for 1783 metres, were drilled at Everleigh Well to test beneath ultrafine (UFF+) gold soil anomalies following positive field mapping by CSA geologists in 2018 and 2020.

All assays have now been received from FMDD0036 which was drilled to test a discrete magnetic high four kilometres south of holes FMDD0032 and FMDD0034.

The gold mineralisation in the dolerite is associated with sulphides and quartz veins which lie under a UFF+ gold soil anomaly associated with a magnetic high.

This finding is encouraging for Iceni as gold within magnetic dolerite is present within a number of large gold deposits such as the Golden Mile Dolerite and the Jundee, Junction, and Revenge mines.

Iceni also said the UFF+ results suggest the magnetic unit is linked to a broader zone of surface gold anomalism.

Follow-up exploration is continuing at Everleigh Well along the magnetic dolerite and the Castlemaine Fault.

Shares in Iceni were down 5.88 per cent on the market and trading at 8 cents at 2:39 pm AEDT.
