Infini Resources (ASX:I88) has announced its exploration team has logged evidence of uranium mineralisation at Portland Creek to wrap up the maiden fieldwork exploration run.

The claim that uranium is present on-site was backed up by anomalous EM spectrometer readings logged at the Talus prospect.

Company CEO Charles Armstrong also reflected on assay results from samples taken on-site. The team collected both soil samples and other similar materials, as well as rock chips.

“Stand out assays ranging from 311-1301ppm U obtained from large pink-white granite talus boulders are highly encouraging,” Armstrong said.

“This, in addition to the numerous soil and biogeochemical samples that were taken, will provide the Company with important vector data to overlay in the future with UAV magnetics.”

All in all, 188 soil and black spruce samples were pulled from the T1-T3 targets of interest with EM data collected where terrain allowed. A total of 12 rock chips were also collected.

The company reports a “potential uranium deposit may exist under the Talus debris,” offering a figure that it may be up to 1,301 ppm uranium.

The slated UAV magnetic survey will accompany further infill soil sampling and sampling of other like materials, ahead of a diamond drill program, the company said on Tuesday.
