  • Multiple zones of coherent gold anomalism defined
  • Including a zone extending for up to two km of strike
  • Gold anomalism coincides with interpreted structural and geophysical features
  • Deeper follow-up RC drilling planned to test the gold-in-regolith targets

Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX: KAL) has identified widespread gold anomalism from the first aircore drill program over the regional-scale Laverton Tectonic Zone (LTZ) Flexure target in WA.

CEO, Dr Matt Painter, said numerous targets have been defined for follow-up testing for potential primary gold mineralisation at depth.

“The first-pass aircore program at the LTZ Flexure has successfully opened up a previously untested area of the Pinjin gold project, identifying multiple coherent gold anomalies along the region’s principal gold-mineralising structure,” Dr Painter said.

“Importantly, several of these anomalies align with the structural and magnetic features identified through KalGold’s targeting work. This provides encouraging validation of the geological model and has identified priority areas for follow-up exploration targeting primary gold mineralisation at depth.”

In the north-east of the drill grid, initial drilling also tested part of the Rebecca Sequence, which hosts gold mineralisation at Ramelius Resources’ Rebecca Gold Project along strike to the south.

“Gold anomalism, together with an associated antimony response, provides further encouragement to test the extent of this prospective sequence within KalGold’s tenure,” Dr Painter said.

“Further aircore drilling of the Rebecca Sequence is due to commence shortly, alongside the company’s next RC drilling program at Lighthorse. These programs will continue to systematically test the broader discovery potential across Pinjin.”

The aircore program tested a regional-scale flexure within the LTZ, a major crustal-scale structure that hosts numerous major gold deposits throughout the Eastern Goldfields. Drilling was completed on widely spaced east-west drill lines.

The cumulative down-hole gold response defined multiple coherent zones of anomalism extending over several hundred metres, including a trend in the northern half of the drill grid extending for up to two km of strike.

Dr Painter said, unlike earlier aircore drilling at Lighthorse where results were influenced by primary gold mineralisation drilling at the LTZ Flexure represents a shallow, first-pass test of a largely unexplored part of this regionally important structure.

He said the coherent gold anomalism identified by the program provides clear targets for follow-up exploration.

Follow-up RC drilling at Lighthorse, approximately 3 km north-west of the LTZ Flexure is scheduled to commence around 10 October 2026. The program will test extensions to high-grade gold intercepts in fresh rock will commence as soon as practicable to test beneath previously reported high-grade gold intercepts.

First-pass aircore drilling of the Rebecca Sequence is scheduled to commence around 16 October 2026, extending drilling to the north and northeast of this LTZ Flexure program.

KAL was up 11.1% to 2.0¢. Mkt cap $10.24M.
