King River Resources (KRR) has appointed Doug Flanagan as chief executive officer of the company’s High Purity Metals Division.

Mr Flanagan is a qualified engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in the mining and energy industries.

According to KRR, the incoming leader is experienced in all stages of a project’s lifecycle from initial business development through to construction of multi-billion-dollar plants.

The new CEO was initially awarded a three-month contract with the company in June and was offered the full time role off the back of his outstanding performance leadership.

King River Chairman Anthony Barton commented on the appointment.

“The Directors of King River Resources believe Doug’s considerable experience and broad technical and leadership skill base will not only bring the necessary experience to progress our projects forward to execution, but will drive the entire business forward with new energy and insights into the broad potential of the HPA and Precursor markets,” he said.

As CEO, Mr Flanagan is poised to develop and execute King River’s business and market strategies and build relationships with potential clients and business partners.

He will also lead KRR’s engineering sub-contractors and drive existing projects to successful commercialisation.

Shares closed up 3.85 per cent at 2.7 cents each.
