Lauriston Girls School is an independent, non-denominational girls day school located in the suburb of Armadale in Melbourne.
Lauriston was established in 1901 and currently caters for approximately 1040 students. Lauriston is a co-educational school for three and four year old Kindergarten students and a girls school from Prep to Year 12. The school offers the International Baccalaureate for Year 11 and 12 students.
Lauriston School follows the motto ‘Sancte, Sapienter, Strenue’ which is Latin for Holiness, Wisdom and Strength. Girls at Lauriston are inspired to see challenge as opportunity. Lauriston girls make change happen – their girls are confident, intellectually curious and courageous.
The main campus at Lauriston is located in Armadale with the Howqua campus located in the Victoria High Country. For a significant time in Year 9, the girls are exposed to an extensive academic, pastoral and outdoor program for the entire school year.
Lauriston Girls School prides itself on developing its students into well-equipped women. In addition to an outstanding academic program, students have access to a wellbeing program which strives to assist students to SHINE- Strength, Health, Inspiring, Nurturing and Engagement.
Girls also have access to a range of recreational and competitive sporting opportunities. Lauriston offers a wide range of co-curricular activities, such as music, art and debating, that inspire students to be curious, courageous and collaborative.
The Lauriston Parents Association, the Lauriston Foundation and the Old Lauristonians’ Foundation are some groups which form a close community for past students and parents.
