Legend Mining (LEG) has received assays from ongoing drilling at its Mawson nickel-copper-cobalt prospect which lies within the Rockford Project in WA.

The new results come from three diamond holes and were in line with Legend’s expectations from visual observations of the core.

Out of the three holes, the company was particularly pleased by holes RKDD043 and RKDD044.

RKDD043 intersected semi-massive and massive sulphides including three metres at 1.04 per cent nickel, 0.61 per cent copper and 0.09 per cent cobalt from 181 metres.

RKDD044 also intersected semi-massive and massive sulphides including 1.7 metres at 1.48 per cent nickel, 1.12 per cent copper and 0.1 per cent cobalt from 456.4 metres.

“The key point is the distance between massive sulphide occurrences and the broader mineralised intercepts give us the geological confidence of a fertile mineralised system of significant scale,” Managing Director Mark Wilson said.

The mineralised intrusion remains open to the west, east and north, and Legend Mining plans to conduct further expansion drilling to follow this up.

In addition, the company is undertaking a downhole electromagnetic survey on the completed diamond holes.

Legend’s shares were trading steady at 12.5 cents at 10:47 am AEST.
