Australian explorer Magnum Mining and Exploration (ASX:MGU) is now heading into the next phase of exploration at Parker and La Cienega before ringing in the New Year, staging several “very high-resolution” airborne geophysical surveys across the two Walker Trend copper-gold projects in Arizona.

The surveys are of the company’s wider strategy to advance its new claims in the Walker Trend, a mineralised corridor hosting large-scale gold systems.

These December works will cover both Parker and La Cienega using helicopter-borne geophysics flown around 20 metres above the ground. Precision GeoPhysics Inc. has been signed up to operate the dual surveys.

Magnum is racing to complete the surveys so that it doesn’t fall behind other companies also searching along the Walker Trend, including Dateline Resources (ASX:DTR) and the CTV-listed West Point Gold Corp.

“Since acquisition, we’ve seen increased activity and interest… along the Walker Trend, including Dateline’s Colosseum,” company chair Michael Davy said.

“We believe both Parker and La Cienega offer compelling untapped exploration potential [in the area], supported by encouraging early-stage results and the fact no exploration has been conducted [across either] to date.

“Magnum Mining and Exploration intends to advance both projects through further systematic exploration and, potentially, to a drill programme.”

The two projects were acquired by Magnum in April 2025. Each sits on the intersection of Walker Trend’s southeast run and the north-south Colorado River Extension. Those two corridors each host multimillion-ounce deposits.

Parker specifically has what seems like a juicy resource to dig into, with historical surface sampling returning several high-grade results, including rock samples with reported values of up to 83.87 grams per tonne gold, 359 g/t silver, and 8.37% copper. Visible gold has already been spotted across the dig site.

“With a disciplined and well-defined exploration pipeline underway across multiple highly-prospective targets, it’s an active and exciting period for Magnum,” Mr Davy said. “I look forward to providing further updates.”

MGU heads into Wednesday’s morning trade at 0.5cps.
