Mandrake Resources (MAN) will soon begin a diamond drilling program at the Newleyine platinum group element (PGE)-nickel-copper prospect in WA.

The materials stock submitted a program of work application to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS), which has now been approved.

The Newyeline prospect is part of the Jimperding Project which is located 30 kilometres east of Chalice Mining’s (CHN) Julimar nickel-copper-PGE discovery.

The upcoming diamond drilling program will target three electromagnetic (EM) conductor plates that were identified by a fixed-loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey. The geophysical interpretation suggests the EM conductor plates could be
the response of massive sulphide mineralisation.

More broadly, drilling will target nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation similar to that at CHN’s Julimar Project.

With all approvals received, the junior exploration company has secured drill contractor and drilling is set to commence on June 14, 2021.

In addition, Mandrake has completed a geological mapping, sampling and portable X-ray fluorescence program across the Jimperding Project to target anomalies identified by a recent heli-versatile time domain electromagnetic survey. The company expects to receive results shortly.

Company shares are up 5.26 per cent and are trading at 20 cents at 10:16 am AEST.
