Marquee Resources (MQR) has identified multiple lithium-bearing pegmatites and layered anomalies at the West Spargoville Project (WSP) in Western Australia.

The West Spargoville Project lies 20 kilometres southwest of Kambalda at the northern end of the Widgiemooltha Greenstone Belt.

It spans a continuous strike measuring over 20 kilometres and covers an area of 80 square kilometres.

After a recent drilling program and a geological review of the project, Marquee recognised that potential exists for lithium-bearing lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites within the WSP.

Marquee has also received the final results from a recently completed 55.5 line-kilometre deep ground penetrating radar (DGPR) survey.

This survey identified multiple targets for follow-up drill testing, as well as a cluster of layered anomalies.

Company geophysics have interpreted these anomalies and believe they could represent large targets and should be drill tested as soon as possible.

Finally, Marquee is nearing the completion of a 3200-hole auger drilling program with sampling expected to be completed in the coming days.

Due to a delay at the laboratory, results have been pushed back and are expected in the second week of December.

Executive Chairman Charles Thomas is excited by the findings made so far.

“We are very excited about some of the targets that have come out of the DGPR data. The geophysicists are particularly excited about what has been interpreted as ‘layered anomalies’ which may represent large targets and should be drill tested as soon as possible,” Mr Thomas said.

“We are also days away from completion of the auger geochemistry program with results expected imminently, so it has been a busy period of exploration at West Spargoville.

“During the auger campaign, the field crew have also been mapping and sampling numerous outcropping pegmatites so piece by piece we are unlocking the lithium potential of the project.”

Shares in Marquee were up 9.09 per cent on the market and were trading at 12 cents at 11:21 am AEDT.
