  • Two gold anomalous trends defined in parallel clusters, NE-trending clusters made up of gold anomalous soil samples.
  • Broad-spaced soil sampling to be infilled ahead of auger drilling.
  • Auger drilling considered feasible during coming wet season.

MetalsGrove Mining (ASX:MGA) has defined two parallel 2.5km plus-long gold anomalous trends from soil sampling at the Fifty-Five prospect on the Zuénoula permit in Côte d’Ivoire. The trends have been ranked as potential drill target at Fifty-Five and defined by clusters of gold anomalous samples with several samples assaying greater than 100 parts per billion gold with values up to 583ppb.

MD and CEO, Lijun Yang, said the soil sampling will now be infilled to tighten definition of the two 2.5 km plus-long targets ahead of auger drilling.

“Defining our first gold potential drill target at the Fifty-Five prospect is an important milestone for MetalsGrove and further validates the prospectivity of our Central West Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire,” Mr Yang, said.

“The identification of two parallel 2.5 km plus-long gold anomalous trends, peaking at 583 ppb gold, together with favourable NE-oriented structures, highlights the potential scale of the system emerging from our systematic exploration approach.

“We are now progressing tighter-spaced infill soil sampling and auger drill planning to refine these targets ahead of Reverse Circulation drilling (RC) or diamond drilling (DD), while additional assay results and ongoing regional programs continue to build momentum across the project.”

Termite mounds and quartz vein float located within the vicinity of plus 100ppb gold soil sample sites have been sampled by the company’s local team with assays pending.

The soil in termite mounds can come from up to 15m below surface and provides an inexpensive opportunity to collect soil samples from deeper in the soil profile. Termite mound sampling is a common exploration tool used in West Africa and other jurisdictions where termite mounds are present.

Topographical mapping of the Fifty-Five prospect has been completed using high-resolution LiDAR-orthophoto survey data imaging technology.

The company’s next phases of exploration programs will advance the identification of additional potential drill targets.

MGA is steady at 11.5¢. Mkt cap $17.41M.
