Ore Resources (ASX:OR3) has confirmed significant down-dip and southern strike extensions to the gold system at Forrest, located within the Miriam Gold Project in WA’s Goldfields region, which means the prospect now spans a north-south strike length of ~1 kilometre and reaches a vertical depth of 250 metres.

The system remains open along strike and at depth, suggesting further potential for growth. Key intercepts from the programme included 33 metres at 1.44 grams per tonne gold (from 135 metres) and 11m @ 1.26 g/t Au.

Ore particularly liked that mineralisation is hosted within near-vertical, highly strained, and altered mafic units associated with the Miriam Shear Zone.

The explorer’s managing director and CEO, Nick Rathjen, noted that while the programme confirmed structural characteristics, the high-grade shoots likely exhibit subtle plunge or boudinage controls that were not fully resolved.

“Overall, we now see a coherent gold system extending over approximately 1km on a north-south strike length and to a vertical depth of at least 250m,” he said. “Importantly, the Forrest system remains open along strike and at depth, highlighting strong potential for continued growth and scale.”

“It should be noted that this diamond drilling did not fully test the interpreted high-grade primary shoots, which are considered likely to exhibit subtle plunge characteristics requiring more targeted follow-up drilling.”

Ore has yet to circle an exact date for that follow-up drilling, but did today say that it will “better constrain geometries” once it’s been completed.

Elsewhere in Ore’s wheelhouse, aircore drilling is currently underway at Miriam. That is testing several regional prospects, including Forrest South, Burbanks Monarch, Goroke, and Jungle; results are anticipated in July.

Additionally, a 3,000m RC programme was recently completed at the Kangaroo Hills Lithium Project, with results expected in the coming weeks.
