PolarX (PXX) is planning a scoping study for its Zackly gold-copper-silver project in Alaska.
The upcoming study will be based on the Zackly Main, Zackly East and Caribou Dome prospects and will assess the project’s key economics, including costs, tonnages and recoveries.
PolarX has decided to undertake the study after receiving final results from drilling at Zackly East.
On December 17, the miner received the second-last batch of results from Zackly East, which were fairly pleasing. The stand-out was extending mineralisation by 200 metres.
Now, the final batch of drilling results has confirmed a 2.5-kilometre strike length and high-resolution magnetic data shows the structural system may extend for up to four kilometres. A significant amount of strike remains untested at Zackly East and Zackly Main remains open at depth.
Importantly, Zackly East is immediately adjacent to the Zackly Main skarn deposit, which has a JORC inferred mineral resource of 213,000 ounces of gold, 41,000 tonnes of copper and 1.5 million ounces of silver.
To begin the scoping study, the company will conduct metallurgical test work to evaluate gravity recovery of coarse gold in mineralisation and flotation of sulphides to capture copper, silver, and residual gold.
Overall, the study will evaluate the potential combined mining and processing of Zackly East, Caribou Dome and Zackly Main mineralisation to help determine the minimum resource size required for a viable project.
PolarX shares are up 23.1 per cent on the back of the news and trading at 4.8 cents at 12:42 pm AEDT.
