Dale Gillham today provides an in-depth analysis of his weekly top stock pick, medical device company, PolyNovo (ASX:PNV), as he presents Wealth Within’s Hot Stock Tip show for HotCopper and The Market Herald.

PolyNovo has a dermal regeneration solution for wound and burn care, and closed at $1.48 (Monday, December 11).

Last week Polynovo announced record monthly sales of $8 million for November.

Wealth Within’s Chief Analyst and Author Dale Gillham is more cautious about software-as-a-service company, Xero (ASX:XRO) which has gained nearly 50 per cent over the past year.

And ‘not hot’ for Mr Gillham this week is Chalice Mining (ASX:CHN). While it was up 22 per cent last week, overall it’s been down about 86 per cent.

“It’s fallen really, really heavy,” he said.

“These are the sorts of stocks I find new traders will jump into because they think it’s cheap.

“The problem is you don’t want to catch a falling knife.”

In this episode, Dale Gillham also says the best traders ‘stalk the market, they don’t chase the market’. He shares insights on trading frequency and the benefit of ‘trading less and making more’.

He talks about Alumina (ASX:AWC) and Perpetual (ASX:PPT), which both added 14 per cent last week, and he touches on those stocks that took a fall last week, including Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) which lost 10 per cent; Paladin Energy (ASX:PDN) which shed nine per cent; and, Emerald Resources (ASX:EMR) which fell 8.5 per cent.

Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) gets a mention too off the back of the failed takeover bid by the Brookfield-led consortium.
