Lithium developer Prospect Resources (PSC) has appointed Ian Goldberg as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Prospect has described the appointment as a “key addition” to company’s senior leadership team while it looks to finalise offtake and project finance for its Arcadia Lithium Project in Zimbabwe.
Arcadia was acquired by PSC in mid 2016 as the company’s flagship project. The company has a seven-year offtake agreement signed with low iron petalite distributor Sibelco.
The new CFO’s most recent role was with Tiger Resources, a copper producer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and he has held a number of similar roles at producing mining companies across Africa and Australia.
Ian’s commercial capabilities in leading early-stage developments through project finance into operations, are hoped to compliment PSC’s own “pathway to production.”
“Mr Goldberg brings development capabilities, African operational experience and a track record funding mining projects,” Prospect’s Managing Director Sam Hosack commented.
“Mr Goldberg is the perfect fit for Arcadia’s ‘pathway to production’, with his mandate to secure Project Finance utilising his broad and extensive capabilities,” he concluded.
Mr Goldberg replaces current CFO Chris Hilbrands effective February 5 2021.
Prospect Resources shares are off 2.78 per cent on the market, trading at 17.5 cents each at 2:29 pm AEDT.
