Prospect Resources (PSC) has completed roughly 70 per cent of the engineering, procurement and construction works at its Arcadia Pilot Plant in Zimbabwe.

The Perth-based lithium company says it’s on schedule to deliver the first shipment of high-purity petalite by the end of the second quarter this year.

To date, all of the detailed engineering design and procurement at the site has been completed.

Meanwhile, around 90 per cent of the plant’s non-process infrastructure has been completed, alongside 75 per cent of the power supply and modular equipment pre-assembly.

Prospect Resources Managing Director Sam Hosack commented on the progress at Arcadia.

“The pilot plant forms a critical part of our project development and market integration strategies and we look forward to providing key customers with a high-value petalite product to complete their qualification requirements,” Sam said.

“Prospect is generating spodumene samples via an experienced third-party laboratory, as downstream lithium chemical customers only require two-kilogram spodumene samples to qualify,” he added.

PSC expects to arrive at several more key milestones this quarter, including achieving operational power onsite and commencing production and transportation of its high-purity petalite product to port.

Prospect Resources shares last traded at 16 cents each at 10:09 am AEST.
