Red Mountain Mining (RMX) has begun soil sampling at the Mt Mansbridge Project in Western Australia’s East Kimberley region.

Sampling will initially focus on three priority rare earth element prospects, including Killi-Killi, Vader and Kylo, before moving onto second-order priority target areas around the project.

According to Red Mountain, the crew will utilise rare earth element, calibrated, portable x-ray fluorescence during the program.

In this way, the work will provide daily data to senior technical personnel as well as the company’s geochemical consultant, allowing RMX to react to any identified anomalies and undertake infill sampling immediately.

Anomalous samples will later be validated at a laboratory using traditional assaying techniques upon the team’s return to Perth.

Additionally, mapping and rock chipping of the anomalies is scheduled to commence after soil sampling has been completed, with the aim of defining several areas for drill testing later in the year.

In other news, RMX has recently been awarded a $150,000 grant, which is co-funded by the State Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme. The funds will assist the company in its drill testing of rare earth element targets.

Red Mountain expects its soil survey program to take 10 days to complete, with the results anticipated for release to market next month.

Early in the session, company shares were trading in the grey at 1.1 cents apiece at 10:24 am AEST.
