Scorpion Minerals (SCN) has hit further high-grade lithium at its Youanmi lithium project in Western Australia.
The company completed a reverse circulation (RC) program over the area, comprising 14 holes for 2158 metres.
Assays from the program confirmed “significant” high-grade lithium mineralisation hosted by shallow east-dipped lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites along three kilometres of strike, extending to a minimum of 175 metres below surface.
Scorpion’s results from the program included nine metres at 1.5 per cent lithium oxide from 160 metres and six metres at 1.6 per cent lithium oxide from 49 metres.
Further hits included five metres at 1.25 per cent lithium oxide from 55 metres and five metres at 1.37 per cent lithium oxide from 22 metres.
“We are highly encouraged by the results of our RC drilling at Youanmi, which continues to demonstrate wide, high-grade intersections of lithium mineralisation,” SCN CEO Michael Fotios said.
“Importantly, these latest results indicate that mineralisation within the LCT pegmatites hangs together and remains open in all directions.”
Mr Fotios noted the company was particularly interested in the intersection of nine metres at 1.5 per cent lithium oxide in the northernmost section of the project area, which remains open at depth. This zone will be targeted in the next round of drilling.
Infill drilling is scheduled to recommence later this month to extend the mineralised body along strike and at depth.
The company also plans to undergo geological mapping, soil geochemistry, and diamond drilling of lithium targets.
