Solstice Minerals (ASX:SLS) shares were up nearly 2.5% in afternoon trades on Friday as it announced drilling plans at its Yarri Gold Project (YGP) in WA’s eastern Goldfields.

Boots are currently on the ground at Yarri ahead of further drilling at the Bunjarra target of interest, as well as another prospect called Bluetooth – which RC rigs will soon test for the first time.

The Bluetooth Prospect sits along a 1km stretch with aircore drilling already finding grades up to 3.6g/t gold (in brief intersections) not far from an area noted to have quartz veining.

The project was formerly the remit of Orecorp – which has since de-listed from the ASX and from which Solstice was, more or less, spun out.

In the meantime, the Bunjarra prospect will be drilled again in mid-October based on aircore drill hits of 10m @ 3.6g/t gold over “an evolving 2km trend.”

Solstice Minerals’ CEO Nick Castleden laid out in clear language what the next Bunjarra drill blitz is trying to do.

“Field preparation [is] underway for follow-up aircore drilling at Bunjarra, aimed at tightening traverse spacing to fine-tune maiden RC drilling,” Castleden said.

“At Bluetooth … we intend to kick-off an exciting program of shallow RC to advance strong historical gold results.”

But there’s another two targets on Solstice’s radar not yet slated for imminent drilling, but – with luck and geotechnical prowess – could be promising for the company’s strategy.

“Separately, samples are now in the lab from the latest round of [reconnaissance] aircore drilling over geological targets at Edjudina Range … and Cosmo, and we look forward to reporting material results generated by this work,” Castleden added.

Driving that enthusiasm is a nearology perspective: Cosmo sits not too far from Northern Star’s Porphyry mining hub.

SLS last traded at 22cps.
