Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) subsidiary SENZ has completed the acquisition of TAB’s 29 AM/FM radio licence across New Zealand.

The purchase includes infrastructure and racing broadcasting rights, with SENZ now aiming to become New Zealand’s ‘home of sport and racing.’

SENZ is the combination of two companies Sports Entertainment Network and Sports Entertainment Network New Zealand.

SEG CEO Craig Hutchison is overwhelmed with excitement to bring back sport on the radio 24/7.

“As we like to say – SENZ, its Kiwi for sport. We really look forward to connecting our talented on-air women and men with New Zealand sport fans,” he said.

“We thank TAB NZ for their professionalism and support throughout this transaction and look forward to partnering with them to provide a unique offering to sports and racing, pacing and chasing fans alike.”

Additionally, SENZ has appointed Neil Jackson as the Chief Commercial Officer.

Previously he has held senior commercial leadership roles for NZME, including Head of Sales and National Sales Manager for the last 10 years.

SEG closed down 4.76 per cent and is trading at 30 cents per share at 2:10 pm AEST.
