Childhood technology company TALi Digital (TD1) has received positive results from its TALi DETECT study.

TALi DETECT is a child-attention assessment that is made up of seven game-based exercises that give a detailed attention profile of a child.

Once completed, the child will receive a five-week personalised training program to strengthen their attention span and improve weak areas.

“DETECT is a triage tool for attention difficulties, which is designed to be used in a classroom environment, at home, or in partnership with health specialists,” Managing Director Glenn Smith commented.

“Early detection of attention issues facilitates earlier intervention which is not only critical to the wellbeing of a child but also has significant published economic benefits to the community,” he added.

A total of 340 children, aged between four and eight, were tested to ‘establish [TALi DETECT’s] accuracy as an attention assessment tool’.

The results confirmed that six of the games provide a foundational assessment of key attentional domains.

The data can provide an index for a child’s cognitive capabilities and then compare to a reference group. If results are outside of the ‘normal range,’ then further action will be taken.

“TALi DETECT features a comprehensive battery of diverse attention assessment tasks that facilitate estimation of a child’s strengths and weaknesses in the major domains of attention, which include the ability to orient attention, the ability to maintain attention, and the ability to switch and regulate attention,” Chief Scientist Dr Azadeh Feizpour said.

Full commercial launch is expected for July this year.

TALi is up 7.41 per cent on the market and shares are trading for 2.9 cents each at 11:11 am AEST.
