Thor Mining (THR) has confirmed copper and gold in rock chips at the Kelly’s NE prospect within its Ragged Range project in Western Australia.
The company collected nine rock chip samples from the Kelly’s NE prospect as part of its sampling program that targeted surface copper mineralisation associated with north-south-trending quartz breccia veins.
The highest-grade rock chip results include 7.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 13.6 per cent copper and 123 g/t silver. Additional results include 4.1 g/t gold, 11.4 per cent copper and 102 g/t silver.
“Rock chip sampling has now confirmed high-grade copper with significant gold and silver,” Managing Director Nicole Galloway Warland said
“I am looking forward to further exciting results being returned at this prospect.”
The company said the rock chip samples indicated a “very different” style of mineralisation to the Archaean Lode gold at the Sterling prospect.
Geological mapping and geochemical sampling will continue over the project area, as Thor aims to validate its structural and mineralising geological models.
