AXP Energy (ASX: AXP) was up dramatically after releasing a positive update on its gas-to-power operations at the Edwards lease in Oklahoma, US.

The company reported its onsite generator set and third party owned associated data mining equipment have operated at greater than 95% uptime over a one-month period ended 19 October 2026.

MD and CEO, Daniel Lanskey, said the sustained performance represents an encouraging operational milestone for the project and foundation for expansion with existing partners and new parties that have expressed an interest in accessing future gas supply from new well re-completions.

“Achieving greater than 95% uptime across the genset and data mining equipment over the past month is an encouraging result for our Edwards Lease operations.

“The neighbouring lease acquisition, and the broader field development across all future drilling locations, offers an opportunity to build on this operating experience. If the planned re-completions deliver additional gas, we can assess deploying further gensets and data mining equipment to monetise that production alongside our oil operations.”

AXP jumped 37.5% to 0.6¢.

Tambourah Metals (ASX: TMB) was popular with investors on news of high-grade gold intersections from a seven-hole RC drilling program at the Baxters Sth and Beatty Park Sth prospects, part of the company’s Bryah gold project in WA.

Drilling at Baxters Sth tested beneath historic gold intersections in sediments of the Ravelstone Formation.

High-grade supergene gold intersected at Baxters Sth included 4.0m at 41.7 grams per tonne (g/t) from 55m, including 1.0m at 146.5 g/t from 55m.

The company told shareholders the primary gold represents a new discovery.

TMB was up 67.2% to 4.9¢.

Leading Australian oil and gas company Santos (ASX: STO) announced it had achieved record quarterly production of 26.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe) for the third quarter, up almost 14% on the prior quarter and 23% on the prior corresponding period.

The company’s production year-to-date of 71.9 mmboe was almost 10% higher than the prior corresponding period.

MD and CEO, Kevin Gallagher, said the September quarter delivered the step-change in production and cash flow that Santos had been working towards, with record quarterly production and free cash flow from operations as Barossa achieved steady production and Pikka progressed its ramp up towards plateau production.

“The inflection point is here and I expect more to come in the fourth quarter as Barossa continues its journey to high reliability and Pikka gets a full quarter online.”

STO was down 1.45% to $9.18.

Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 was lower today, dropping 49.30 points or 0.56% to 8,782.00, despite crossing above its 200-day moving average.

The bottom performing stocks in this index were Nick Scali and Magellan Financial Group, down 15.55% and 8.93% respectively.

Over the last five days, the index has gained 0.71% but is virtually unchanged year to date.

Meanwhile, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has released new data showing the number of applications approved for compassionate release of super has decreased by five per cent.

ATO deputy commissioner, Ben Kelly, said while the latest data is promising, the ATO remains concerned that health practitioners and third-party facilitators continue to utilise predatory practices to get individuals to inappropriately access their super for financial gain.

“Australians need to remember that super is there to set you up for retirement and there are strict and limited situations where people need to access their super early to pay for critical medical procedures,” Mr Kelly said.

“Our message to individuals and medical practitioners is clear – compassionate release of super should only be considered as a last resort, where all other options of paying for the eligible expenses have been exhausted.”
