Twenty Seven Co (TSC) has received results for the first half of its recent shallow auger and soil geochemical sampling program at the Rover Project.
The company focused on the Harmonic, Creasy 3, Red Bush and Mistletoe prospects as well as the Maynard Intrusion target. All prospects are located along the 20 kilometre-long gold strike of the Maynard Hills greenstone belt.
The Harmonic prospect has been tripled to roughly 650 metres by the discovery of a 1.77g/t gold rock chip sampled 400 metres northwest from the nearest reverse circulation (RC) holes.
The rock chip was linked to a ferruginous mafic schist near the sheared contact with underlying quartzite. This is significant since the company’s previous RC drilling programs at Harmonic and Creasy 1 intersected high-grade gold on and near the sheared contact.
Previous results from Harmonic include 13 metres at 1.2g/t gold from 58 metres including one metre at 11.8g/t gold from 59 metres and one metre at 11.7g/t gold from 103 metres.
Additionally, recent detailed mapping and sampling at Harmonic has returned several more rock chips with anomalous gold. This confirms the prospectiveness of the area.
Sampling also confirmed a 600 metre-long high magnitude gold-in-soil anomaly at the northern edge of Red Bush. The new soil anomaly starts just north of recent drill-hole, 20RVRC045, which tested a moving-loop electromagnetic conductor (MLEM) in May this year.
Encouragingly, 20RVRC045 returned one metre at 0.97g/t gold, 13.4g/t silver, 0.1 per cent lead and 0.27 per cent zinc from 126 metres.
The new gold-in-soil anomaly supports the mineralisation in 20RVRC045 and indicates a stronger target zone that extends to the north. Now, TSC plans to conduct follow-up drilling to target the stronger part of the gold soil anomaly.
“In an exciting development, it is pleasing to report the soil sampling and auger programs have successfully extended known focus areas at the Harmonic and Red Bush prospects while generating new gold targets for priority follow-up,” CEO Ian Warland said.
The geochemical program also highlighted new areas of gold anomalism towards the south of the Red Bush prospect. The gold is broadly coincident with anomalous arsenic and copper.
Recent rock chip samples taken during the geochemical program returned anomalous gold up to 0.13g/t gold and strong arsenic at 1545 parts per million.
Assay results from the second half of the geochemical program are expected shortly and will cover the Mistletoe and Maynard Intrusion Target prospects which lie further south along the Maynard Hills greenstone belt.
Company shares closed 14.3 per cent in the red to trade for 0.6 cents each.
