Venture Minerals (VMS) has commenced commissioning of the wet screening plant at its Riley Iron Ore Mine in northwest Tasmania.

The company says with its equipment commissioning now underway, the plant is on track to deliver the first ore shipment in the current quarter.

Other notable progress at the site includes 100 per cent completion of the plant’s structural steel and mechanical installation.

The power station is now also operational and with electrical installation and piping nearly completed.

Venture Minerals Managing Director Andrew Radonjic commented on the progress.

“Achieving this milestone of the installation schedule for the plant, keeps the first iron ore shipment on track for this quarter,” he said.

“The recent record iron ore price makes it a perfect time for the Company to transform from explorer to producer,” he added.

Looking ahead, VMS is continuing to prepare for full operational start-up as the plant nears completion.

The company will recommence mining activities this week with Shaw Contracting, while Qube has begun preparing for ore haulage.

Venture Minerals shares were trading at 12 cents each at market close on May 14.
