VHM (ASX:VHM) has announced that its Goschen project Environment Effects Statement (EES) will be placed on public exhibition for eight weeks.
The public viewing will span 40 business days, commencing on November 20.
During this period, members of the public will be able to submit comments to the Planning Panel Victoria (PPV) regarding the project EES until 11:59 pm on January 17, 2024.
The public display of the EES marks a significant milestone in the Goschen approvals process, representing a major accomplishment for all parties involved in the project to date.
“VHM has engaged openly with regulators throughout the approvals process and the assistance of Environmental Approvals consultant AECOM has been integral to reaching this milestone,” VHM CEO Ron Douglas said.
“This has been a thorough process for all involved in assessing and mitigating the environmental aspects of the Project. We look forward to continued engagement with, and contribution to the community as we deliver the Goschen Project.”
Upon the conclusion of the exhibition period, the Goschen project will progress to the next stage, involving a public hearing on the EES conducted by an independent Inquiry and Advisory Committee (IAC) appointed by the Minister for Planning.
Subsequently, the IAC will provide advice to the Minister for Planning on the environmental effects of the project. The Minister will then assess the project’s environmental effects based on the IAC’s report.
If the project receives a positive Ministerial assessment, VHM will then apply for the necessary licenses and permits.
This information will assist the VHM Board in making the final investment decision for the Goschen project.
