Zelira Therapeutics (ZLD) has launched its Hope products in Australia after receiving Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approval.
The two proprietary cannabinoid formulations, Hope 1 and Hope 2, were developed to support the needs of patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The products are now available by prescription under the TGA Special Access Scheme, via an authorised prescriber, and will be distributed by Health House.
The Hope products were launched in Pennsylvania last year under licence to Ilera Healthcare and with the support of advocacy group HOPE Grows for Autism.
In August this year, the products were also launched in Louisiana, in partnership with Advanced Biomedics.
Zelira’s Managing Director outside the U.S., Dr Richard Hopkins, said following the successful launch in two U.S. states, the company is excited to bring the Hope products to Australia.
“This represents another key milestone in our commitment to bring the benefits of Hope to patients in global markets. We believe Hope can help support the unmet needs of the Autism Spectrum Disorder community in Australia and look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure they can access the benefits that medicinal cannabis can provide,” Dr Richard explained.
The company has now launched five products in 2020.
Following today’s announcement, Zelia shares are up 8.86 per cent, priced at 8.6 cents at 10:48 am AEDT.
