Aura Energy (AEE) has appointed Dr Will Goodall as acting CEO, effective immediately.

With a newly appointed, production-focused board, Peter Reeve has stepped down as CEO and Managing Director to apply his exploration experience to advance Aura’s gold assets.

Dr Goodall has worked with Aura for more than 10 years and has been Principal Metallurgist since 2018.

In that role, he was responsible for delivering the Tiris uranium scoping and definitive feasibility studies as well as the Häggån uranium scoping study.

Dr Goodall has more than 20 years of experience in geometallurgy, mineral processing and hydrometallurgy across a wide range of commodities.

He has held a variety of roles ranging from technical expertise and corporate experience across junior miners to tier-1 mining companies.

“I am pleased to take on the role of acting CEO of Aura. I look forward to leveraging the strengths and leadership of the current team to drive the company in expanding our uranium resources and advancing Tires towards uranium production,” Dr Goodall said.

“Having worked with Aura for over 10 years and being responsible for delivery of the Tiris scoping and definitive feasibility studies, I see the project as an exciting opportunity for Aura to move rapidly into uranium production.”

At its annual general meeting on December 21, Aura underwent a board restructure with mining heavyweight Phil Mitchell appointed as Non-Executive Chairman, and Warren Mundine and Bryan Dixon as Non-Executive Directors.

Aura Energy remained steady today, closing at $0.33 per share.
