Security-as-a-service platform provider Scout Security (SCT) will launch its indoor and outdoor HD cameras on Amazon.com.au.

Scout expects the cameras to be available for purchase by the end of the month with a price of $59.99 per camera plus a free month of video cloud storage.

After this month, the cloud storage pricing will be set at $5 per month.

Integrated with Amazon Alexa, Scout’s cameras are able to view live feeds and two-way audio through the Alexa app as well as Alexa-enabled devices.

The cameras also include automatic night vision, adjustable motion and video quality, recordable live clips, and sound sensitivity detection.

This launch marks Scout’s entry into the Australian market and the company is now in discussions with multiple Australian internet service providers (ISPs) and value added resellers (VARs) to bring its full product suite to Australia.

“The Scout HD indoor and outdoor camera is an incredible device, both functionally and design-wise, and runs on our state-of-the-art mobile application with Alexa integration,” CEO Ryan McCall said.

“The launch of our camera, in conjunction with our long-time partner and shareholder Amazon, is only the first step of our planned expansion into Australia.

“I expect the combined efforts of our US-based team and Australian-based board members will soon lead to our full Security-as-a-Service solution launching in Australia with a local ISP or VAR partner.”

Shares in Scout ended the day up 7.41 per cent to close at 2.9 cents.
