E79 Gold Mines (E79) has begun a soil sampling program at its Jungar Flats project in Western Australia.

The company plans to collect more than 3000 samples in this auger program across 40 kilometres of prospective greenstone stratigraphy.

This round of sampling is following up earlier work by the company that identified gold anomalism in three of four locations sampled.

Additionally, historic drilling in this area returned anomalous gold that is yet to be followed up.

E79 Gold CEO Ned Summerhayes said the company is excited to begin testing the “largely unexplored” greenstone belt.

“This greenstone belt is a high priority target where the potential host greenstone sequence lies in close proximity to the highly prospective Big Bell Shear which hosts the Big Bell Mine, the largest gold mine in the region,” he said.

The company expects to complete the sampling work before the end of this year with results anticipated in the March quarter of 2023.

Shares in E79 last traded at 15 cents at 11:29 am AEDT.
