Altech Batteries (ATC) has released preliminary battery specifications for its CERENERGY 60 kilowatt per hour (KWh) and one megawatt per hour (MWh) GridPack battery products.
ATC is collaborating closely with its joint venture partner, Fraunhofer IKTS, to develop renewable battery products that evolve with the needs of the growing renewable energy and grid storage market.
The preliminary specifications for the CERENERGY 60KWh battery pack include an operating voltage of 600 volts and 100 amps, with battery backup power designed to offer an uninterrupted power supply.
The 1MWh GridPack targets larger-scale applications, such as grid-level storage and industrial power backup, ensuring a grid-stable and uninterrupted power supply not reliant on fossil fuels.
The company reported that the GridPacks have been engineered to ensure complete protection from dust and any external environments which means additional shelters are not needed to house them.
Additionally, the grid packs encompass a sea container design and can be stacked on top of one another, unlike other large grid packs, which minimises battery footprint.
ATC emphasises that its stackable features, coupled with the “plug and play” design, cement the company as a front runner in the grid storage market to meet future evolving energy storage needs.
These preliminary specifications serve as a significant milestone for Altech, enabling the company to initiate discussions with potential off-take partners and secure future sales in the growing grid storage battery market.
ATC shares closed 1.08 per cent higher, trading at 9.4 cents at market close.
