Lithium Universe (ASX:LU7) has dried the virtual ink on a 3D layout for its Becancour lithium refinery in Canada.
The company has now completed a virtual mock up of the facility to hand off to engineers and builders down the line, as part of an ongoing DFS process underpinning the project.
The company recently announced it would turn to Chinese parts suppliers to whittle down delivery times on the project overall, which it did not see as contrary to the north American critical minerals play.
“The team engaged for this project is dynamic, practical and experienced, fully understanding our strategy to fast-track the DFS process by leveraging the insights and proven technology from the Jiangsu Lithium Carbonate reference plant,” Chairman Iggy Tan said.
“[They] can easily apply their knowledge on this project as the original designer and builder of the reference project as well as any other lithium plants in their impressive portfolio of projects. We are delighted with the progress of the engineering work.”
In the background, utility connections are underway, and the company is working towards a bottom line CapEx estimate.
