Advance Metals (ASX:AVM) has started its maiden drilling at the Yoquivo Silver-Gold Project in Mexico with a bang, this week confirming multiple down-hole zones with high-grade mineralisation in epithermal veins and breccias.

Australian explorer Advance started its Mexico campaign with a major 3,000-metre diamond drilling program in southwestern Chihuahua, on the hunt for gold and silver.

The June results – already lauded as “fantastic” by company boss Dr Adam McKinnon – included individual silver grades up to 2,250 grams per tonne as well as gold grades charting as high as 17.2 grams per tonne from the first two holes.

Really biting into the drill numbers, AVM today reported two “relatively shallow, high-grade intervals” in the first holes, including 3.55 metres at 249 grams per tonne silver-gold (157g/t silver and 1.2g/t gold from 115.4m) as well as 4.42 metres at 446 grams per tonne silver-gold (297g/t silver and 1.9g/t gold from 126.58m).

Major zones clocking “moderate to high” were also intersected under Pertenencia.

“These assays clearly demonstrate the exceptional potential of the project,” Dr McKinnon said today, adding the Pertenencia intersection was also “highly encouraging.”

The Advance MD went on: “The drilling at Yoquivo is continuing at a rapid pace, with results already pending for a further three holes. Importantly, the holes already completed and those shortly to be drilled have the potential to significantly increase the scale of the known high-grade mineralisation in the deposit.”

With more Yuquivo results in over the next few months and Advance’s Myrtleford Project in Victoria equally busy, things are continuing to move for the explorer.

“It’s sure to be a busy and exciting period for all AVM shareholders,” McKinnon pledged.

Elsewhere on Advance’s slate, the company is also evaluating data validation and modelling requirements to allow a potential future JORC Resource to be declared at the Mexico project. More assaying may be run then too.

AVM will head into Wednesday’s trade selling at 5.2cps.
