Verity Resources (ASX:VRL) has expanded Monument in Western Australia almost immediately in CY26, doubling the gold project’s landholding and prospective footprint by acquiring a new Laverton Goldfields licence.

The expansion sees Monument more than double in size in 2026, to a little over 405 square kilometres, and gives Verity plenty to do this new year.

Monument hosts a JORC-compliant Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 3.257 million tonnes at 1.4 grams per tonne gold for 154,000 ounces, split between Korong (which hosts around 139K ounces) and Waihi (15K). These deposits both sit along a relatively untested banded ion formation about 20 kilometres long.

That untested BIF was what led Verity to this expansion: The newly-granted licence is directly adjacent to and along strike from Laverton, owned by Genesis Minerals (ASX:GMD), and lines up quite closely to the aforementioned formation.

Verity is preparing a comprehensive geophysical review, historic data acquisition, and a field recon program to scout the granted tenement. These, the explorer says, should set up a drilling run sometime in the near future.

Alongside that, the explorer also flagged that further gold assays coming in the next few weeks may expand the Korong-Waihi resource in that same direction.

“This [all] further expands the value of gold exploration potential at Monument,” Verity’s director, Patrick Volpe, declared today. “We look forward to progressing systematic follow-up work to define and prioritise new drill targets.”

Needless to say, Australian investors came up from this news very excited; through to lunchtime trade, VRL shares have popped more than +22%. That jump brings the Aussie explorer’s shares to a price of around 2.2c each.

Through the last twelve months, Verity has been +26% stronger.
