  • Drilling expands strike and depth at Little Gem
  • Builds on newly discovered Sapphire with over 2.6km in strike
  • Defines multiple parallel lodes with the system remaining open
  • More than 360 drill holes completed between Little Gem and Sunraysia prospects

Ora Banda Mining (ASX:OBM) is ramping up exploration at its high-grade Little Gem prospect with outstanding recent drilling results expanding the mineralised footprint of the Sapphire lodes in WA.

Drilling has also returned additional excellent intercepts on the Gem lodes, where work along the Gem line of lode remains ongoing, with several new intercepts such as 18.0m at 3.4 grams per tonne (g/t) and 16.1m at 3.5 g/t confirming the widths and grades already seen in previous drilling.

The Gem lode system is currently defined over 4,700m of strike and down to around 750m below surface, with mineralisation continuing to remain open at depth and along strike.

More than 360 drill holes have now been completed between Little Gem and Sunraysia with the company aiming to deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) later this year.

Following the discovery of the Sapphire lodes 200m east of the Gem lode system the Sapphire lodes have been the focus of significant recent drilling. To date, mineralisation extends south from the British Lion prospect to Little Jewel prospect, where 1.2m at 25.6 g/t was recently intersected, extending the strike length of over 2.6 km.

MD, Luke Creagh, said similar to the Gem lodes, the Sapphire lodes present as several parallel lodes with moderately southerly plunging high-grade shoots.

“We continue to be excited by the ongoing exploration success across the Little Gem prospect, with the discovery and subsequent expansion of the system along the Sapphire lodes supporting its potential to host substantial, high-grade gold mineralisation.”

At the Sapphire lodes, intercepts such as 5.0m at 18.1 g/t, 7.0m at 10.1 g/t and 13.0m at 3.2 g/t indicate significant open pit and underground mining potential.

The depth extents are yet to be fully explored but the significant high grade (and width) plunges already defined will provide significant targeting opportunities at depth.

OBM was up 6.67% to $1.12. Mkt cap $2.024B.
