- 21 RC holes completed for 2,593m targeting extensions to shallow high-grade mineralisation
- Significant new shallow oxide gold results
- Results add to previous high-grade results
- Assay results now been received for nine RC holes
Australian Gold and Copper (ASX: AGC) has received promising assay results from RC drilling completed at the recently announced Western Discovery Zone at the Evergreen prospect, part of the South Cobar project in NSW.
“The results continue to define a broad, coherent, gold-rich polymetallic mineralised system across western Evergreen,” MD, Glen Diemar, said.
“Evergreen continues to delight with exceptionally broad high-grade gold-dominant drilling results. New results such as 16m at 5.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 61m including 4.0m at 17.5 g/t Au from 72m add significant weight to the mineralised system.
“The discovery is very shallow and remains open along strike and at depth. It won’t be long until the next 12 holes still pending assays are released so we are excited about what is ahead.”
Significant new shallow oxide gold results include 16m at 5.1 g/t from 61m including 4.0m at 17.5 g/t from 72m.
Previous high-grade results reported in mid-October include 15m at 4.8 g/t from 61m including 2.0m at 10.2 g/t from 70m, 13m at 3.3 g/t gold, 264 g/t silver, 0.8% copper, 4.8% zinc, and 5.3% led from 99m to end of hole with mineralisation open at depth.
In late October AGC received assays for 2,161 samples from historic drill core and RC samples, uncovering gold mineralisation in previously untested intervals across the greater Evergreen area.
Results from the program, together with results from AGC’s recent drilling, highlight gold mineralisation at locations across an approximately 1.9km long corridor from Kelpie Hill through Evergreen and south beyond Windmill Dam.
Significant new oxide gold results from the historic core included 3.0m at 2.0 g/t from 99m, including 1.0m at 4.2 g/t from 100m
Historic drilling 300m south of AGC’s Evergreen drilling returned 6.0m at 1.1 g/t from 155m, including 1.0m at 2.3 g/t from 157m.
Additional gold, silver and base-metal results also add to the prospectivity of the area.
AGC was steady at 10.5c with a Mkt cap of $34.81M prior to markets opening.
