PEB: Pacific Edge jumps 21% as Medicare confirms coverage for Cxbladder tests
The share price of cancer diagnostics company Pacific Edge (ASX: PEB) took off after it revealed that the final Local Coverage Determination (LCD) for urine-based biomarkers in patients with microhematuria has been published to the Medicare Coverage Database, confirming Medicare coverage for Cxbladder Triage and Triage Plus.
The final LCD establishes hematuria evaluation as a covered Medicare benefit and provides foundational medical policy for the use of validated urine-based biomarkers in the evaluation of intermediate risk microhematuria patients. The final LCD is scheduled to become effective in 45 days on 20 December 2026.
“The final LCD is a significant milestone for Pacific Edge, Medicare patients, urologists, and the broader healthcare system. It provides clear guidance on the eligible hematuria patients for which Triage and Triage Plus should be reimbursed and recognizes the important role that validated, non-invasive urine-based biomarkers can play in helping physicians make better-informed decisions about cystoscopy,” chief executive, Dr Peter Meintjes, said.
PUR: Pursuit Minerals outlines 17,500tpa lithium expansion as Rio Grande Sur reserve jumps 250%
Pursuit Minerals (ASX: PUR) attracted the attention of HotCopper followers after it announced the results of a pre-feasibility study addendum for the Rio Grande Sur lithium project in Argentina.
MD and CEO, Aaron Revelle, said the transformational PFS addendum establishes Rio Grande Sur as a large-scale, long-life lithium development opportunity, delivering a staged expansion from 5,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) to 17,500 tpa LCE, with two commercially attractive production pathways targeting lithium carbonate or lithium chloride.
“The PFS addendum represents a major advancement for Rio Grande Sur, establishing the Project as one of Argentina’s most compelling emerging lithium developments,” Mr Revelle said.
“Increasing our probable ore reserve by approximately 250% to 438,000 tonnes LCE has fundamentally transformed the scale of the project, supporting a staged expansion to 17,500 tonnes per annum and creating the potential for a globally significant, long-life lithium operation.”
