Adriatic Metals (ADT) subsidiary Eastern Mining has received a positive record of decision (RoD) for the Rupice environmental permit.

The company previously prepared and submitted an environmental impact assessment, which was reviewed by a five-member expert committee and presented to a public hearing in August 2020.

Following this submission, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism has issued the RoD to Adriatic and its subsidiary.

The Rupice environmental permit is one of the key approvals needed by Adriatic for the issue of the exploitation permit. With the RoD now issued, the Rupice environmental permit must be issued within 30 days of the RoD.

When this occurs, Adriatic will submit an application for an urban planning permit to the Federal Ministry for Spatial Planning. After receiving the urban planning permit, the company will finally apply for an exploitation permit.

Adriatic Metals is now one step closer to permitting its high-grade Vares Silver Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company’s CEO and Managing Director, Paul Cronin, predicted that 2021 will be a defining year for Adriatic.

“The receipt of the RoD is another major step forward in the permitting of the Vares Project, and when coupled with the recent issuance of the Veovaca exploitation permit, clearly demonstrates the team’s ability to permit a mine in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.

“We look forward to building this highly profitable mine in Q3 2021, whilst continuing to grow our resources around Vares, and advance our exciting project at Raska,” he added.

Adriatic Metals is up 1.33 per cent, trading at $2.29 per share at 12:23 pm AEDT.
