Anova Metals (AWV) has begun its surface mapping and soil-grid sampling programs at its Big Springs Gold Project in Nevada.

The aim of these programs is to outline the surface expressions of the gold mineralisation.

The soil sampling program will be completed over an area spanning 15 square kilometres with a focus on targets at Golden Dome, Mac Ridge North and Jacks Creek.

Over 8000 samples are expected to be collected at depths from one to two metres below surface.

Work is expected to take roughly two months with results to be announced in due course.

Initially, surface mapping will focus on the Crusher Zone North area then move to the South Sammy South and Mac Ridge zones.

The mapping will focus on Carlin-type mineralisation alteration, mineralogy and the structures that control the gold mineralisation.

Once received, all results will be integrated into the overall Big Springs geological model to enable further drill targeting for upcoming work.

Additionally, induced polarisation surveys are expected to begin in August to identify structures and covered sulphide mineralisation.

Anova has ended the day 4.76 per cent in the red with shares trading at two cents in a $30.09 million market cap.
