Arrow Minerals (AMD) has commenced a 3500-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Dassa gold discovery in Burkina Faso.

The drilling program is aimed at expanding known mineralisation at Dassa down-dip and along strike.

Known mineralisation includes intersections of 13 metres at 3.8g/t gold, three metres at 13.1g/t gold and 13 metres at 2.4g/t gold.

Simultaneously, auger sampling is being undertaken to test the continuation of the Dassa mineralisation for another three kilometres to the southwest.

“The RC drilling, combined with the auger sampling south of the Dassa gold discovery, will allow the confirmation of three kilometres of mineralisation and aim to define additional gold potential to the southwest which if successful will be the subject of further drilling later in the year,” CEO Howard Golden said.

Divole West drilling

Earlier this year, Arrow discovered continuous gold mineralisation that was associated with shear zones in sediments adjacent to an underlying shallow-dipping granitoid intrusion.

It was this discovery that led to the latest RC drilling program. Drilling began yesterday and is expected to finish by the end of July.

Additionally, 1200 metres of shallow, auger geochemical drilling is underway and could potentially double the strike length of the known discovery.

Company shares have soared 62.5 per cent and are trading for 1.3 cents each at 2:12 pm AEST.
