American Tungsten and Antimony (ASX:AT4) popped some +14% on Wednesday after an “exceptional start” at Antimony Canyon that saw the American-focused explorer hit massive sitbnite in the project’s very first drill holes.

The CY26 drilling program was mainly focused on the ‘Emma’ claim, one of more than twenty historical workings across AT4’s patented claim area. Each of the first two HQ diamond drill holes intersected zones of antimony mineralisation, confirming the presence of a broad system early on in the piece.
“To encounter massive stibnite in the very first holes of our maiden programme is an exceptional start,” lauded AT4’s managing director, Andre Booyzen.
He continued: “This visual confirmation of significant width and clear geological vectoring towards the east gives us high confidence as we target the feeder structure with Hole 3. The appearance of realgar and orpiment is particularly encouraging, suggesting we are in the heart of a significant mineralised system.”
Hole ACP25DD001 hit the bigger zone, approximately 42 metres wide, with a 91-metre-thick main zone of massive to semi-massive stibnite within. ACP26DD002’s intersection was described as more intense, though it’s incomplete.
The explorer noted the alteration intensity of the second hole increases towards Emma’s east, suggesting drilling is approaching a major feeder structure.
A third hole is close to completion, too. That drill − in at a -45 degree inclination − already seems to support the theory that there are stronger zones of orpiment and realgar, along with major sulphide intercepts.
“This success is not a coincidence,” Mr Booyzen told shareholders. “It’s evidence that our systematic upfront work is paying dividends.”
That upfront work by AT4 had included extensive geophysics, surface sampling, and structural interpretation, all of which had given the Australian-headquartered explorer high confidence they were on the right track.
“The company is moving to capitalise on this success by preparing NOIs for our other patented claims, ensuring we have a pipeline of drill-ready targets to unlock the full scale of this district,” Mr Booyzen added.
To lunchtime, AT4 shares have been selling at 16c each.
