Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) has kicked off surface geochem and geophys at its El Aguila project in Argentina sniffing after drill targets for gold and silver.

A combination of magnetic imaging and surface sampling will, all cards in order, guide geotechs towards a refined understanding of what may lie underneath on-site the company’s Latin American acreage.

The info-gathering exercise precedes a planned Q3 drill run on-site for the company with drillers hoping that high-grade surface samples, including one rock chip at 174g/t gold (equivalent), translate to high grade systems further underground.

“Our team continues to execute our exploration strategy systematically and efficiently at El Aguila. Completing the EIA field surveys and commencing geophysical and geochemical programs puts us firmly on track to lodge our maiden drilling application by quarter-end,” BM8 CEO Nigel Broomham said.

“We are particularly excited to integrate the results of the ground magnetics and gradient IP surveys, which are expected to significantly enhance the targeting of high-grade structures ahead of drilling.”

BM8 last traded at 5.4cps.
