Brazilian Critical Minerals (ASX:BCM) has announced to the market its appointment of Andrew Reid as Managing Director on Monday.

Reid starts on 25 March 2024, joining the helm not long after former chief Andre Douchane left the building.

Andrew was previously a non-executive director (NED) for the company – formerly BBX Minerals – and “has over 30 years’ experience in the resources industry.”

Twenty years of that run has revolved around mine management, the company flagged on Tuesday, as he comes in to helm the explorer.

Reid also previously captained the ship at Augustus Minerals (AUG), and acted as COO at Hastings overseeing the Yangibana REE project.

“The Company is at a pivotal point of developing its portfolio of assets and now is the right time to appoint a Managing Director and Andrew is the ideal candidate,” Non-Exec Chairman (NEC) Ken Kluksdahl said.

“Andrew will bring a necessary whole of business focus as we progress the implementation of our vision of building a significant exploration Company.”

It’s a big day for Kluksdahl too – he’s stepping down to NED status while the company brings on new NEC Jeremy Robinson. BCM issued little information about his past.

BCM shares closed Monday at 2.4cps.
