As Syntara (ASX:SNT) advances a diversified clinical pipeline through 2026, investors are now approaching what could be one of the company’s most important near-term catalysts: the upcoming data readout from its Phase 2 study of SNT-4728 in patients with isolated Rapid Eye Movement Sleep Behaviour Disorder (iRBD).

Expected at the end of June, the data will provide the first meaningful insight into the drug’s ability to reduce neuroinflammation in a patient population increasingly recognised as being at high risk of developing Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

iRBD is characterised by the loss of normal muscle paralysis during REM sleep, causing patients to physically act out their dreams. Importantly, it is widely regarded as one of the strongest early warning signs of neurodegenerative disease, with many patients ultimately progressing to Parkinson’s disease later in life.

Syntara’s SNT-4728 has been developed to target inflammation within the brain, a process believed to play a significant role in both iRBD and the development of neurodegenerative conditions. The upcoming analysis includes 40 patients, with 30 receiving SNT-4728 and 10 receiving placebo, providing an early opportunity to assess whether the drug is successfully reducing inflammatory activity.

Positive findings could have implications beyond the treatment of iRBD itself. By addressing a key biological mechanism associated with disease progression, SNT-4728 has the potential to support patients living with iRBD while also opening a pathway towards slowing or delaying the onset of Parkinson’s disease.

The readout represents the first of five anticipated clinical data catalysts Syntara expects across its portfolio during the remainder of 2026. This steady stream of potential value-driving milestones highlights the company’s unique position among Australian biotechnology companies, with multiple programs targeting significant unmet medical needs across a range of indications.

In this video interview, Syntara CEO Gary Phillips discusses the significance of the upcoming SNT-4728 data, the science underpinning the program, and why the company believes 2026 could be a transformational year as multiple clinical catalysts unfold across its development pipeline.
