ClearVue Technologies has signed an an agreement with Arup Australia to develop its smart facade concepts.
ClearBue is producing a multi-functional glass which is sustainable and cost- effective. The smart façade panels aims to enhance health and wellbeing of occupants, increase building value and reduce energy cost.
Arup facade engineering team led by Haico Scheepers will work with ClearVue to development of 4 design typologies in approximate 5-month program.
The 4 design concepts will be supplied to selected manufacturers for prototyping and integration into mass production and assembly. Under the Consultancy Agreement, all intellectual property related to the new facade design typologies is to be owned by ClearVue.
Arup is an international firm of designers, planners, engineers, architects, consultants and technical specialists working in todays cities across 34 countries.
Each panel will contain a Wi-Fi microcomputer meaning the new designs will be able to be controlled by an app and will be self- powered.
The indicative ClearVue Smart Façade design concepts include casement window, closed cavity blind, auto switch glazing, multi- functional façade and natural ventilation.
Casement Window can be retrofit into exisiting buildings. The window will open and close depending on the building temperature and airflow. A rain sensor will be installed to close in wet conditions.
Closed Cavity Blind uses an automated blind to control the buildings temperature and lighting comfort.
Auto Switching Glazing will enable the glass to tint automatically to adapt to lighting conditions. The panels can retrofit into existing buildings with no cables needed.
Multi- Functional Façade will be an automatic blind and ventilation window. The design will be able to monitor light, temperature and CO2.
The Natural Ventilation will be able to control a buildings ventilation.
Industry experts expect the smart city market to be worth US$2.57 trillion by 2025.
ClearVue Executive Chairman, Victor Rosenberg is pleased with the agreement.
“This new work under the Consultancy Agreement further extends our relationship with Arup but more importantly is a major milestone for ClearVue in preparing our multifunctional windows and smart façade designs,” he said.
ClearVue has gained 8.33 per cent on today, selling at 22.8¢ per share.
